Frequently asked questions

How accurate is the salary calculator?

Our calculator uses the official 2026 Danish tax rates and rules, including AM-bidrag, state tax, municipal tax, and the tax ceiling (skatteloft). Results are estimates and may vary slightly from your actual payslip.

What is Topskat and when does it apply?

From 2026, Denmark has a new three-tier tax system: mellemskat (7.5% above 641,200 DKK), topskat (additional 7.5% above 777,900 DKK), and toptopskat (additional 5% above 2,592,700 DKK) - all amounts after AM-bidrag. Our calculator automatically factors this in.

How does the §7P share scheme work?

The §7P scheme allows employees to receive shares at favorable tax rates. Instead of being taxed as regular income, shares can be taxed as capital gains when sold.

Can I compare multiple job offers?

The Job Offer Comparison tool compares full salary packages, including pension contributions, benefits and municipal tax rates, and shows the real difference in take-home pay.

Is my data secure?

We don't store any salary data. Every calculation runs in your browser — nothing is sent to a server, and nothing is shared or sold.

Which municipalities are supported?

We support all 98 Danish municipalities with their current tax rates for 2026. You can select your kommune from the dropdown to get accurate local tax calculations.
